Simmons Kicks Off 2021 With Runner Up Finish In Arizona

Riley kicked off his 2021 racing season this past weekend at the inaugural Wild Wing Shootout at the Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, AZ.

Friday night, Riley was able to qualify 5th overall amongst the 49 IMCA Modifieds that were in attendance. His 5th qualifying time put him on the outside of the front row in his heat race, which he was able to win.
His heat race win earned him the outside of the front row for the night's 25-lap feature and he was able to take off from the front row and lead the majority of the event until he settled into the second spot and crossed the finish line with a runner up finish.

Saturday, the track was in less than ideal racing conditions for the Modifieds, which caused him to qualify 21st, run 5th in his heat race and then cross the finish line with a 5th place finish in the b-main, missing a transfer spot.
The team then decided to load up and head for home rather than racing on Sunday due to morning and afternoon rain showers.
